When reading recipes and menus, there is so much choice that (for me at least) is often difficult to choose. In all curiosity, I would prefer to taste a bit of everything. It was therefore not surprising diners that again I could not decide in coming up with a recipe for pumpkin hummus. I have luckily managed to limit to two flavors, although they both contain pumpkin, are still very different. One is what spicier with fresh garlic, cumin, cinnamon and smoked paprika. The other version is milder and more refined seasoned with rosemary, sage, roasted garlic, vanilla and orange. I find both very tasty, especially when combined with the seasoned pita chips. The choice is up to you ...
Version 1: 240 g chickpeas (rinsed and drained) 240 g pumpkin puree * 4 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste) 5 tbsp lemon juice (about 1 lemon) 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/4 teaspoon salt freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 1/2 clove garlic, crushed pinch of cayenne pepper pinch of cinnamon 2 tbsp pepita's (pumpkin diners seeds), possibly

I do actually only garlic, tahini, lemon juice and olive oil, and indeed for the convenience of a can. I will still try the cooked version. I use it as bread or cracker toppings, delicious!

This super simple recipe has quickly become an absolute house classic. At a BBQ, while enjoying a drink or simply as lunch..er's coffee break always a reason to make these delicious crostini with pea hummus. Some combinations are simply fantastic; crunchy, slightly sweet peas combined with salty, creamy feta has been delicious - but the addition of lemon and fresh mint makes it fresh, sparkling and as sunny as the first day of spring. And like most of my favorite dishes; it takes less time, less effort and it is not only good for your taste buds, but also for your body! My love is sometimes a little caught coffee break up in my cooking madness. It often happens that our fridge is so full of food that are freshly bought beers no longer bijpassen (and cold beer is surely one of the basic needs of the average man). A few weeks ago, my parents came to eat and I wish love to give something else as an aperitif. Everyone was wild about the hummus, so I can label the experiment a success. You can serve the hummus with crackers or Turkish bread. Moreover, it is just very nice on a sandwich. In a closed jar you can keep several days in the refrigerator.

Hummus can be found in many different flavors. Chickpeas are the stars in this recipe. What do you need for one bowl of hummus? - 300 grams thawed pumpkin cubes from the freezer (available at the supermarket) - 250 grams chickpeas from a pot - 2 cloves garlic canberra times sliced - 2 large or three small sprigs of fresh rosemary - splash of olive oil - juice of half a lemon - 1 pinch of cumin (cumin seeds) - 1 tsp sesame canberra times paste - salt and pepper
