During the Vega Challenge, last April, was one of my greatest discoveries hummus. I prefer savory things on bread and found it inconvenient that I had banished my cup herb cheese to another universe. But there was the rescue: hummus. Hummus is a spread for bread with chickpeas as the base. Even after my vegan challenge I continue to eat it (it will be fine in spreads, especially for a flexanist!) And today I decided that I had to make but once it yourself. On the internet there are about six thousand recipes for hummus, all partly the same and yet biting something else. I finally chose a basic recipe and make a little bit.
Needed: - 1 pot chickpeas (drained weight around lunch 220 grams) - 1.5 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste Mine is with sea salt but they sell them without.) - 1 tablespoon curry powder - A dash of lemon juice (say half a tablespoon?) - Salt to taste What to do: 1. Pour the liquid from the chickpeas and collect it in a glass. Mash the chickpeas in a blender or with an immersion blender. Do this with approximately two tablespoons of the moisture collected, otherwise it shall not. 2. If you pureed chickpeas nice and smooth, then add the tahini, lemon juice and curry powder there. Stir well to combine. 3. Test equally. If you feel "I miss something", then add a little more of something or other at. It's not an exact science. 4. Add as many or as little lunch salt as you like. That's it! In a sealed container in the refrigerator hummus would be about one week. I'm going this week to discover if that is true.
