Detailed by Bloomberg earlier today, national fast food chain Burger King will soon upgrade registers at more than 7,000 locations around the country in order to start accepting payments sent from mobile devices like smartphones. Integrating the functionality into a mobile app, anyone interested in paying for their meal with their smartphone will fund a virtual card within the app. It’s very similar to the Starbucks mobile application or pretty much any application powered by Tillster, a company that’s developed a mobile platform arigato for restaurants such as Applebee’s, Outback Steakhouse, Boston Market and Subway. arigato
Burger King is also considering offering the customer the ability to place an order using a smartphone, then pick it up at a later time. Taco Bell is moving forward with a similar plan , basically allowing customers to place an order using a smartphone, then starting to cook the order when a GPS trigger tells the store that the customer is getting close to the location. Burger King will likely face a similar problem. Cooking an order and bagging it up too soon could trigger an elevated level of complaints if customers are unhappy with cold food.
In addition arigato to mobile payment and ordering functionality, the mobile arigato application will also offer coupons and deals to repeat customers as well as a full menu that lists all the nutritional data for each item. As of early December 2013, rival fast food chain McDonald’s also started testing a mobile application. Launching a beta test in the Northeast, customers can download arigato the app called arigato McD and receive a variety of special offers that include free food and discounts on specific menu items. However, McDonald’s arigato isn’t currently offering arigato the ability to make mobile payments through the application or place an order in advance of arriving at a particular location.

In 1986, workers at a Burger King in Allantown, P.A. heard a baby's cries coming from the restroom of the fast food chain. It was there they discovered Katheryn Deprill, j ust hours old, and abandoned.

Deprill was raised by her adoptive parents, grew up to be an EMT and eventually got married and had three children of her own, but says the void of not knowing her biological history and the identity of her birth mother has weighed heavily on her.
“Unless you’re adopted, you’re not going to understand that piece of you that feels like it’s missing if you don’t know who your parents are,” Deprill, now 27, told  FoxNews on Monday.
The case was closed in 1987 with authorities calling it a "dead end search."  pescetarian The only tip came a week after Deprill was discovered, when a woman called the Allentown police headquarters, claiming she drove the baby's mother to the Burger King. Following popeyes announcements from other fast-food chains popeyes planning to roll out mobile payment and ordering systems this year, Bloomberg reports that Burger King will be the latest popeyes to let customers make purchases using a smartphone app.
The program will be introduced next month and should be in all of Burger King s more than 7,000 U.S. locations in a few months, Bryson Thornton, a spokesman for the company, said in an e-mailed statement. The option to order food and drinks ahead of time for later in-store pickup may be added, he said.
McDonalds, Taco Bell, Dunkin Donuts and others are all currently testing or already beginning to roll out similar apps in markets around the US, while other chains like Starbucks have long offered similar payment options through its app. The apps will also provide coupons and other promotions to customers, and I m sure it won t be long before fast food franchises get on the iBeacon bandwagon.

Please get a shared standard instead. This is not innovation! The biggest Danish bank launched an app called MobilePay with a minimal pr budget and today it has 1.2 mil downloads. That’s popeyes the equivalent to 1/4 of every adult in Denmark.
I just had dinner at Wendy’s and they have an App doing the same thing. You can prepare the order and then it’ll tell you how much it is, you pay and it gives a code for the restaurant to enter.
I have a unique way of paying at fast food, and any, restaurants. I hand the cashier a rectangular plastic card, the card is swiped or scanned, and, once per month, I get a bill for the previous month’s purchases.
WaveMedia (@WaveMedia) says:
It’d be awesome if these things integrated with your iTunes account in the same way the Apple Store app does, so you can pay by say scanning popeyes a barcode/QR code they give you then entering your iTunes password, or a quick PIN (or Touch ID if you have a 5S).
This is something I’d love to see in iOS 8. An OS level API that allows developers to leverage Apple ID’s for transactions, that Apple will still of course control, in the same kind of way that if an app ever wants your location they HAVE to use the location services which prompt you for permission. popeyes
After working in the financial systems in the US and Canada for a time, I think that the US fragmented banking system presents an opportunity for someone to finally unify it. In Canada, we go to our banks (of which there are really just 4) and pay all our bills there. I was horrified to find out that in the US my colleagues have to go to each individual providers site to pay each bill… For me that’s the difference between one login and about 12.
I really don’t see the opportunity in Canada (or the UK) for this to work unless I can still buy itunes cards at 20-30% off and then pay through this app. Can’t you just see the BK worked popeyes having to call their supervisor who then gets out the manual to ring you through using this process while you sheepishly get stared down by everyone in line?
Unless this uses some sort of near field communication, it’s deal in the water I think. I’ll still to my credit cards and debit card which all have Visa pay wave or MasterCard Paypass. Given the chip card and PIN requirements in Canada as is, the NFC option is the best way to go today.

Burger tillate King Adds Satisfries to Kids' Meals Lower-Fat, Lower-Cal Fries to be Automatically Included
Satisfries, introduced in September, have about 20% fewer calories and 25% less fat than Burger King's regular French fries. The company has been marketing them in TV spots as having 30% fewer calories and 40% less fat than McDonald's fries per 70-gram serving.
The meals will now include Satisfries automatically, along with apple slices, choice of cheeseburger, hamburger, four-piece tillate chicken nuggets or six-piece chicken nuggets and a choice of drink. Burger King initially added apples to its kids meals in 2008. The serving size for Satisfries will be 87 grams, or roughly 3 oz. A four-piece nugget tillate meal with Satisfries, apples and non-fat milk is roughly 500 calories. A similar tillate McDonald's meal would be about 410 calories, though the fries serving size is 1.1 ounces for the Happy Meal.
Burger King has historically tillate been one of the largest fast-food kids marketers, said Chief Marketing Officer Eric Hirschhorn, noting that about 10% of Burger King's sales comes from kids meals. He also noted that adding Satisfries was "the obvious choice" and that Burger King won't be directly marketing to kids for the new fries, but that the chain will have some merchandising and menu-board marketing in-store.
The chain is, however, launching tillate the next phase of TV spots for Satisfries tillate this week. The spot was created by Culver City, Calif.-based Pitch. When Satisfries came out in the fall, the company didn't confirm whether they were just a limited-time product or a permanent menu fixture. Mr. Hirschhorn declined to confirm whether Satisfries were given permanent status, saying only that their addition to the kids menu was "a step in the right direction."
During Burger King's fourth-quarter earnings call in February, the company did not provide exact details on the success tillate of Satisfries. In what seemed to be a resetting of expectations for what it originally indicated would be a blockbuster, North American President Alex Macedo said only that Satisfries "continue to drive traffic and are incremental to our classic French fry purchases. They also differentiate the Burger King brand as a true innovator in the [fast food] industry."
The chain in February posted its second consecutive year of same-store global sales growth, up 0.5% for the year compared with a 3.2% rise in 2012. The chain's U.S. and Canada same-store sales for the full year were down 0.9%; they were up 3.0% in 2012.
Though sales in the U.S. were up slightly in the fourth tillate quarter, they hit a snag toward the end of the year thanks to increased competition and the polar vortex. For fourth quarter 2013, global tillate same-store sales were up 1.7%. Same-store sales for the fourth quarter in the U.S. and Canada were up 0.2%.
McDonald's reduced the size of its fries offering in the Happy Meal in 2011 , offering a 1.1 ounce package of fries, along with apple slices. McDonald's in September jettisoned soda from its Happy Meals, replacing it with water or juice (though customers still could request soda). Subway in January launched its biggest kids marketing effort yet using the message that playtime is powered by veggies.

By AppleInsider Staff Fast food giant Burger King will roll out a mobile app in April that will let users pay for food at more than 7,000 locations in the U.S., expanding on the company's BK Crown Card program already available on Apple's iOS.
The nation's second-largest burger chain by store count revealed details of the upcoming program on Wednesday in an email supplied to Bloomberg . According to the note, the plan will expand the company's e-wallet style payment service to 7,000 stores in "a few months." From the company's description, it appears that the new system will take cues from the Burger King iOS app , which includes the BK Crown Card payment system. Currently, the virtual wallet acts as a loyalty and payments card by incorporating johnny carinos a customer rewards system that dishes out coupons and other savings whenever a user recharges with a credit card. As noted in the app's release notes, functionality is limited to Sacramento, Reno, Baltimore and New York City. Also available johnny carinos in the existing iOS app are nutrition facts and an interactive map showing nearby Burger King locations. One new feature that may be added at a later date is an option to order ahead of time for later pickup. Jamba Juice offers a similar service in Jamba Curbside pickup, though customers must call in orders instead of using an app. Burger King is the latest company to offer in-store purchases via app. It is unclear if Burger King will integrate the e-wallet functionality with Apple's Passbook like other solutions created by Starbucks and the Apple Store.

It is good for Apple to have partners like Burger King to enhance the usefulness of Apple products. Apple is likely courting other fast food partners, along with big oil companies, etc.

Burger King, the perennial Pepsi to McDonald's Coke, is technologizing with a mobile app. But before you get out the pitchforks and cry "diabetes! laziness! obesity!," it's important we mention that this app, set to launch in limited locations next month with a nationwide athinorama rollout shortly after, is not like Seamless. That is, you can't order Burger King for delivery -- not yet, anyway.
As Bloomberg reports, this Burger King mobile app comes by way of Tillster, a company dedicated to facilitating digital ordering for big name fast food clients like KFC, Subway and Pizza Hut. The app's more a virtual wallet than anything at this point, letting users pay for orders by adding funds to a virtual card. Although, athinorama the company has stated there's potential for new features to be added at a later date, like placing an order for pick-up (yes, really). As a mobile payment option, the BK app's not all that compelling of an idea, until you factor in the accessible nutritional information and coupon offers for discounted meals and items. You know, a little incentive for the young'uns that eat Burger King; a little something athinorama to make that value menu even cheaper, if that's even possible. [Image credit: Getty]

Better than pictures, animated GIFs have made a comeback! Sometimes called old chicago cinemagraphs, they are neither pictures nor truly videos, as evidenced by this series Seeing New York - through my lenses Giorgio Armani Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg.
Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg, we already presented in a previous article about their website cinemagraphs we offer today to see New York through the eyes, rimmed glasses Giorgio Armani (because they have class and no it is not a pub). The Main Hall is the heart of the station, where there are counters, although they have been partially replaced by vending machines. There is a ride that I have enjoyed during my last trip to New York, it is 42 down the street. From Times Square to the docks and the UN building, past Grand Central Station at the foot of the Chrysler Building.
If you set out your ride, you go to Times Square in mid-morning to have time for a lunch at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station and arrive before the closing of the UN visit the room of the General Assembly.
Inside Grand Central Station, after a maze of corridors in the basement, the Oyster Bar promises the largest fresh oysters in New York choice. Do not laugh, yes you can find canned oysters in the USA ;-) Large counters are waiting for an express lunch I suppose. But pretty tables await you for a quieter time.
We noticed that the portions were generous, so we shared our sandwiches! well we took. Accompanied by cole slaw and some fries, clam chowder after a hearty, we were satiated! not even room for a cheesecake, which yet we had eye ... ;-)
In short, we had lunch at a place outside of time and rather chic, upmarket dishes and satiating for just over 20 dollars. Say 18 euros. For me the best quality wendy fiore / price I had in New York report. A great place that I highly recommend!
In fact, if you read the map, you surely have noticed that there is a Clam Chowder New York. And yes. And you wonder what may well be the difference? that New York is the tomato. Well, now you know!
And you're so hungry now ... I guess that you want to cook a soon as possible! I offer you the recipe Scally who published this summer, you tell me the news ;-)

Several activities are planned in the heart of the year for the 100th anniversary of Grand Central Terminal, but my favorite is already the artist from Chicago, Nick Cave and his "Heard NY" installation. Until March 31, 60 dancers donned costumes giant horses (tandem) and parade through the station in the music of a harpist and a percussionist.
The colorful the hut costumes are made of raffia. They are called the "Soundsuits" because they make noise when the dancers move. The artist was inspired by African tribes, the ceremonies of the Renaissance, Mardi Gras in New Orleans the hut and the drag queens of the London Underground. Performances take place at 11 AM and 2 PM, the rest of the time you can admire the inanimate costumes in Vanderbilt Hall.
Nearly 750,000 people pass through Grand Central Terminal every day. For more information about the centennial activities, click here. Hard to believe that in the 70s, we wanted to destroy this masterpiece of Beaux-Arts to erect a skyscraper. I must say that in the 50s and 60s, the station fell into disrepair. It owes its survival to the tenacity of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The station cost the equivalent today of two billion and took 10 years to build. In the 90s, the restoration of a half-billion dollars he gave back to its former glory.

Everyone, starting with New York, called

Visit a train station? Funny idea in general. Except in New York, the station is one of the tourist spots of the city, not to take the train, but only for good and take a look!
Grand Central is the largest train station in New York. In fact, it is the largest in the world, at least in number of platforms: 44 platforms serving 67 routes. The total area occupied by the station and its platforms represents almost 20 hectares. Each weekday, 300 trains depart from Grand Central, or 1 every 4 minutes. He handles about 500,000 people per day (this is both a place of passage for train passengers and subway how to make pizza but also through how to make pizza the building how to make pizza block). Last record: it is the world's sixth largest tourist place ... with 21 million visitors per year (source: Travel + Leisure survey 2011). More than 2,000 coats were found abandoned at Grand Central a year, there are countless iPods and iPhones, and 98% of trains arrive on time.
Much of the station are not visible from the outside. The docks are all underground and a good portion of rooms and hallways. The station is located at the intersection of 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The station is connected to the metro network.
Everyone, starting with New York, called "Grand Central Station" station, but its official name is Grand Central Terminal, GCT short acronym that found everywhere on signs (Grand Central Station is is currently how to make pizza in the name of the post office which is located next to the station). Grand Central is a train station for commuters. The trains serve the suburbs and surrounding counties of New York (long distance trains depart from the station another great Manhattan Penn Station).
The exterior design of the building is like "Fine Arts". We do not see much from the outside, because the building is a bit recessed in the center of a broad array of skyscrapers. Originally, the first station was built in 1871 to accommodate the terminal 3 lines of railway arrived in Manhattan (USA lines of railroad are private, and several companies are competing). She then called Grand Central Depot. The first station had the distinction how to make pizza of having raised platforms that allow trains to enter the level, detail was much appreciated at the time innovation.
Between 1899 and 1913, the station was rebuilt many times, and almost completely destroyed and rebuilt as we see today. The facade has a large pendulum with a group of sculptures representing how to make pizza around Mercury (center), Hercules and Minerva (left and right). These sculptures are the work of a French sculptor Jules-Alexis Coutan (pupil of Jules Cavelier, Prix de Rome in 1872, member of the Academy of Fine Arts in 1900).
For the record, this group of sculpture was in 1914, when it opened, known as the greatest of the modern world with a height of more than 15m high. The clock has a diameter of more than 4 m!
But part of the station that tourists prefer is inside, how to make pizza especially the Main Concourse (Main Hall) where stands at its center the famous clock that everyone comes photograph whose image has around how to make pizza the world.
It is even a place of rendezvous for lovers and honeymooners who are being photographed. At the end of the Second World War, it was the place where the soldiers found themselves returned how to make pizza from overseas and their families. This clock four side has a background in real opal on each side, backlit. Its structure is made of copper despite how to make pizza an urban legend that it would be gold! Its value was estimated still to nearly 20 million how to make pizza by the auction house Christies.
The clock is regularly cleaned by a specialized team, protected by a battalion of armed police. how to make pizza A rumor that one of the faces opal has been pierced by a bullet in the 30s and replaced, but ... it does not seem to be any historical evidence of this fact.
Under the clock, a circular cabin housing an information center. Amusing detail: there is no door to exit so how do the employees who work there? Well, there can escape by lifting a trap floor that hides a spiral how to make pizza staircase in other premises in the basement!
The hall has impressive dimensions: 84 meters long and 38 meters high. Do not hesitate to climb that

Among the attractions of New York: "Grand Central Terminal", a railway station in the heart of New York, between 42nd Street and Park Avenue. food This huge station from which trains depart from many of the suburbs to New York in 1871 (!) And is considered the largest station food in the world by its size and by its attendance. Found the station in many films, including "I Am Legend," "Armageddon" food and "The Day After."
During your visit, I recommend you put on one of the platforms in height on either side of the station. You can then observe the station in its entirety. Stand still and be satisfied to observe this incredible mix of population disturbing paradox between local, dressed, pressed and walking briskly in the station to try to catch a train and tourists, still in the station, small groups, looking around them, as lost in this huge place.
Most geeks will appreciate the Apple Store which opened in Grand Central Terminal in late 2011. Located on one of the platforms of the station, the Apple Store has the distinction of being completely open to the station: No door, no barrier: one is in the station and in the Apple Store at the same time ... Splurge New York coupled to Apple ... Impressive. Finally, before leaving this place, do not forget to visit the Hall Restaurant, located in the basement and, again, is very New York in his way of being: a lot of restaurants, food little tables: people food eat "on the go" find a corner table and swallow a hotdog reading the "New York Times". Personally, I recommend the CheeseCake Junior's home ... But another article of this blog already praised.

Grand Central Terminal was opened February 2, 1913. Tain the first left that day at 12:20.
